Sometimes in the gym, you ask someone to spot you when lifting heavy weights. This is important to minimize the risk of serious injury or to get assistance with lifting at your capacity. The same is true for life outside the gym. There are people that are starting life over after escaping partner abuse and they could use a "spot", the assistance from others while they "lift life" at their capacity. This assistance has a positive ripple effect on the individual and the broader community. I support Hopeworks and I truly believe in the work they do because I have seen up close the difference their work makes for people seeking safety and starting over. I hope you will join me with a donation of any amount to support this really important, sometimes life-saving work by clicking on the link above.

Every donation has a big impact and helps us achieve our mission:
• $25 staffs our 24-Hour Crisis Hotline for one hour. $50 reaches a child in need through our prevention education programs.
• $150 covers one in-person hospital advocate response.
• $500 supports a week-long stay in our Safe House emergency shelter

Last Year We...

• supported over 2,780 clients
• responded to over 1,660 hotline calls
• provided over 3,590 nights in shelter
• engaged over 1,350 people through community event

Some Domestic Violence Statistics
• In 2024, at least 40 Marylanders lost their lives to domestic violence.
• Nationwide, 47% of women and 44% of men experience some form of physical violence, sexual abuse, and/or stalking by an intimate partner
