Please give a gift to help survivors find peace and healing! Your donation can help prevent domestic violence! This month I hope you'll join me in raising money in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. I've worked at HopeWorks for the past 7 years, and I've seen firsthand our work's profound impact on the community. Any amount you can give helps HopeWorks continue to provide life-changing services to people seeking safety, and prevention programs that benefit our entire community!

Domestic violence is a serious issue that impacts people from all walks of life. Oftentimes people suffer in silence due to the stigma around being a victim. Our society is quick to ask "Why didn't you leave?" when the truth is, it's incredibly difficult to leave an abusive relationship. In fact, leaving their abuser is the most dangerous time for someone experiencing DV. Abusers often control every aspect of a victim's life - their money, car, phone, where they go, who they talk to. Leaving an abusive relationship means risking losing everything, including possibly your life.

Where would you go if you had to flee your home suddenly? How would you take your kids to school or go to the doctor if you didn't have your car? How would you buy groceries if someone shut off your credit cards and emptied your bank account? Would you risk going to your job if you knew someone was stalking you and wanted to hurt you?

HopeWorks gives survivors and their children a lifeline in times of crisis. Our incredible staff works around the clock to provide comprehensive support for survivors at all stages of their journey.
• Sexual and Intimate Partner Violence 24-Hour Helpline
• Confidential emergency shelter and extended housing for survivors and their children
• Hospital Accompaniment Program providing comfort and advocacy to survivors at Howard County Medical Center
• Emergency financial assistance for survivors
• Crisis and ongoing counseling for adults and children
• Support groups & long-term wellness programs for survivors
• Legal representation enabling clients to obtain Civil Orders of Protection
• Awareness, prevention, and wellness programs addressing the root causes of violence

At HopeWorks, we believe that everyone has a role to play in the movement to end violence. We work every day to create a community where all people are valued and safe. You can help make this vision a reality - no donation is too small to make a difference! Thank you for your support!!
