$400 raised

Ended Oct 31, 2023

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Our neighbors, friends, family, and community members that are impacted by sexual assault and domestic violence need our help and support. In Howard County, the place many of them turn to is HopeWorks. HopeWorks is a non-profit agency providing services to women, men, and children impacted by sexual assault, domestic violence, and human trafficking. At HopeWorks our mission is to provide support and advocacy for people in Howard County affected by sexual and intimate partner violence and engage the community in creating the change required for prevention. Our community needs this support now more than ever.

A little about HopeWorks:

HopeWorks has served the Howard County community for over 45 years by supporting and advocating for people affected by sexual violence and intimate partner violence. Last year almost 4,000 survivors found the safety and support they needed to break free from violence.

By joining together as a community, we can ensure that HopeWorks can continue to provide crisis intervention and long-term wellness programs for survivors, community outreach, and prevention education.

Your donation goes directly to support the following services:
• Sexual and Intimate Partner Violence 24-Hour Hotline
• Emergency shelter and longer-term transitional housing
• Crisis and on-going counseling to adults and children
• Hospital accompaniment and advocacy services
• Legal representation enabling clients to obtain Civil Orders of Protection
• Awareness, prevention, and wellness programs addressing the root causes of violence

We have a dedicated staff, volunteers, and board to serve our neighbors in need. As a member of the Board of Directors I am asking for your help so we can continue to provide the services that we have provided for the past 45 years. No donation is too small to make a difference. Any amount you can give helps HopeWorks continue to provide life-changing services to people seeking safety, and prevention programs that benefit our whole community.

Please join me during the month of October in supporting our virtual fundraiser, The Purple Challenge, to enable HopeWorks to continue to provide the services needed by many of our fellow citizens.
