This work requires a diverse crew to come together under the unified mission of supporting DV survivors in our community. Some of us have needed services from places like HopeWorks before, and some of us have not needed them, but still deeply understand that this work cannot be on survivors alone. In the same vein, this work cannot be as successful as it can be by relying on federal grant funds.
Fundraisers, like this one, allow us to raise unrestricted funds that we can direct as we need to address any gaps that our restricted grant funds cannot go towards. Some examples of how we can use unrestricted funds are helping pay for a client's car repair, cover a client's school/employment certification cost, or pay for after school programs so our clients in shelter can have more childcare options while they work to regain stability. Ultimately, there is no amount too small to donate because even a donation of $2-$5 could cover a client's prescription cost, load of laundry, or bus fare.
Thank you to everyone that donates, and/or finds other meaningful ways to support DV survivors in Maryland. We need your kind and caring hearts and minds now more than ever.
To our fellow survivors, We see you. We hear you. You matter.
